How often has disappointing others resulted in something catastrophic? Part of the solution is to look at exemplars with clarity, when you’ve disappointed someone over how you painted or cut the grass what were the consequences? Even if they were irritated with you, was their disappointment something you could not stand? Remember that by not looking at the “consequences” of disappointing with a critical eye, your brain is free to magnify those outcomes into something to fear.
You can’t avoid disappointing people. So, the idea is to acknowledge that it’s going to happen and that most of the time, it doesn’t cause a significant consequence. Even when the consequence is notable, it is not awful; it’s just unpleasant, inconvenient.
The best to you.
