Many of my clients report significant stress over their organization’s requirement to see a high number of patients per day. They are often not given sufficient time to see each patient and falling behind schedule is the norm.

One doctor described her frustration: “I feel the pressure to get through my caseload. I wind-up falling behind and so I’m behind schedule for the rest of the day. I’m not allotted enough time to address my patients’ concerns in the manner that I would like. Since I’m often late, many patients are already angry with me when I walk into the exam room. This is not the kind of interaction I hoped to experience as a doctor.”

One major clinic here in central Florida has posted notices in the exam rooms telling patients they are limited to three questions to their doctors per visit.
